PKN WEBSITE ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

The Polish Committee for Standardization undertakes to ensure the accessibility of the website www.pkn.pl in accordance with the Act of 4th April 2019 r. on Digital Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Entities. This accessibility statement applies to the PKN website at www.pkn.pl.

The website is partially compliant with the Act of 4th April 2019 on Digital Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Entities due to reasons listed below.

At the time of publication of the statement, the following criteria specified in the annex to the above act are not met:

  • not all elements accessible with one sense (graphics, photos, buttons) have an alternative description in the form of text that can be read by a screen reader (1.1.1) 
  • not everywhere on the page the screen reader reads the relationships between information (1.3.1) 
  • not all content is presented with proper contrast (1.4.3)
  • on some pages the text may be replaced with a graphic, but it has alternative text. There are also documents, that will be unavailable due to the fact that they were published before the Act on Digital accessibility has entered into force (1.4.5) 
  • some texts may be inconvenient to read (1.4.12) 
  • not all functions and navigation elements can be operated with the keyboard (2.1.1) 
  • not all „focus” movements are keyboard-controlled (2.1.2)  
  • time-varying content (banners) can be stopped by hovering the cursor over the banner – there is no dedicated pause button (2.2.2) 
  • not all links sufficiently inform about their purpose (2.4.4)

In the same way, you can submit requests for access to unavailable information and submit requests to ensure accessibility.

Everyone has the right to request the ensurance of digital accessibility of the website, mobile application or any element thereof. It is also possible to request information to be made available using an alternative access method, for example by reading a digitally inaccessible document, describing the content of a film without audio description, etc. The request should include the data of the person making the request, an indication of which website or mobile application it is about and the method of contact. If the requesting person reports the need to receive information by means of an alternative access method, he or she should also specify the method of presenting this information conveniently for him/her.

The public entity should promptly satisfy the request, no later than within 7 days from the date of the request. If meeting the deadline is not possible, the public entity will immediately inform the person making the request when it will be possible to satisfy the request, however the deadline shall not exceed 2 months from the date the request was filled. If ensuring digital accessibility is not possible, the public entity may propose an alternative method of access to information.

If the public entity refuses to comply with the request to provide accessibility or an alternative method to access the information, the person making the request may lodge a complaint regarding the provision of digital accessibility to the website, mobile application or an element of the website or mobile application.

After exhausting the procedure indicated above, a request may be also submitted to the Commissioner for Human Rights (Rzecznik Praw Obywatelskich.).

Architectural accessibility

Information on architectural accessibility of PKN’s buildings are provided by:

  • in Warsaw – security and reception staff in the main entrance and PKN’s employees in the Store and in the Standards' reading room;
  • in Katowice – concierge and security staff and employees of PKN’s Sales Division;
  • in Łódź – employees of PKN’s Sales Division.

Description of the architectural accessibility of  the building by ul. Świętokrzyska 14, 00-050 Warszawa

  1. Description of the accessibility of the entrance to the building and passing through control areas:
  • Entrances providing free access to the building for people with disabilities, directly from the sidewalk, without architectural restrictions.
  • In the main entrance - security and reception staff.
  1. Description of the accessibility of corridors, stairs and lifts:
  • Corridors and stairs accessible and wide, two lifts can transport wheelchairs with disabled persons.
  • The toilet for persons with disabilities is located on the IV floor of the building in Module I (after exiting the lift to the right, at the end of the corridor). 
  • In the Store and in the Standard’s reading room (ground floor) there is a toilet for persons with disabilities.
  1. Description of the customizations:
  • A small ramp to facilitate wheelchair access (main entrance).
  • An assistive listening system in the form of an induction loop to serve the hard of hearing is provided in the building. 
  1. Information about the place and method of using parking spaces designated for the disabled:
  • The PKN does not have a parking lot, it is possible to use nearby municipal parking spaces. Publicly accessible parking spaces for the disabled: one space in front of the building on Świętokrzyska Street, one space at the beginning of Mazowiecka Street, three spaces directly in front of the main entrance to the NBP at Powstańców Warszawy Square closer to Świętokrzyska Street, one space at the beginning of Tadeusza Czackiego Street. 
  1. Information about the right to enter with an assistance dog and possible justified restrictions:
  • No restrictions.
  1. Information about the possibility of using a sign language interpreter on site:
  • There is no sign language interpreter in the building and there is no possibility to use the on-line interpreter service. The need for contact with a sign language interpreter should be reported at least 3 days before the planned visit.

  1. Description of the accessibility of the entrance to the building and passing through control areas:
  • Entrances to the building directly from the sidewalk.
  • Lodge/Security.
  • Information board by the lodge
  1. Description of the accessibility of corridors, stairs and lifts:
  • Corridors and stairs accessible.
  • In the main entrance there is a lift which can transport wheelchairs with disabled persons.
  • A toilet for persons with disabilities is located on the IV floor of the building (floor used by PKN). 
  1. Description of the customizations:
  • Security/concierge staff can assist disabled people in wheelchairs to enter the building.
  1. Information about the place and method of using parking spaces designated for the disabled:
  • Two parking spaces for the disabled by the building (from ul. Lompy).
  1. Information about the right to enter with an assistance dog and possible justified restrictions:
  • No restrictions.
  1. Information about the possibility of using a sign language interpreter on site:

  1. Description of the accessibility of the entrance to the building and passing through control areas:
  • Entrances to the building directly from the sidewalk.
  • Information board in the entrance.
  1. Description of the accessibility of corridors, stairs and lifts:
  • Corridors and stairs accessible.
  • In the main entrance there is a lift which can transport wheelchairs with disabled persons.
  • A toilet for persons with disabilities is located on the ground floor of the building.  
  1. Information about the place and method of using parking spaces designated for the disabled:
  • One parking space for the disabled by the building.

Description of the architectural accessibility – evacuation of the disabled

  1. Disabled employee of PKN – the Head of the Organizational Unit appoints from among his/her closest associates persons, who will be responsible for the evacuation of that person during an alarm. 
  2. Disabled customer at PKN – the person serving the customer is responsible for the evacuation.
