BALTIC STANDARDIZATION FORUM – BSF 2026

The BSF is a long-standing platform for cooperation between the four Baltic national standardization bodies. In line with the forum’s tradition, the host country rotates annually among the participating countries. This year, Estonia had the honour of welcoming the participants to Viljandi.

The programme traditionally combines a plenary session with discussions in thematic working groups. The meetings bring together members of the management teams and experts from the participating organizations, enabling an open exchange of views and experience across a range of areas.

The forum’s overarching objective is to strengthen cooperation among the Baltic national standardization bodies, support the development of common approaches to standardization and identify opportunities for joint initiatives at European level. It also provides an important opportunity to take stock of developments and achievements over the past year and to discuss current challenges and priorities.

During this year’s meeting, participants exchanged practical experience in a number of areas, including management, marketing, IT and standardization activities. Discussions addressed, among other topics, the organization of standardization work, international cooperation, educational and promotional initiatives aimed at strengthening engagement in standardization, solutions already implemented by the participating organizations, and their plans and priorities for the coming period.

The BSF once again demonstrated the value of close regional cooperation and the importance of sharing knowledge and experience in support of a strong and effective European standardization system.
