Meeting of Chairpersons and Deputy Chairpersons of Technical Bodies
The meeting was opened by Ewa Zielińska, President of PKN, and Teresa Sosnowska, Vice President for Standardization. The most important part of the meeting was led by Joanna Skalska, Head of the PKN Communication Department. One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of the prestigious IEC 1906 Awards to two Polish experts: Anna Wrońska and Rafał Burzyński.

Lectures on key directions of standardization
The meeting agenda included a series of presentations devoted to the most important issues related to the functioning of Technical Bodies and cooperation within European and international structures. The program included lectures on the following topics:
- Cooperation between Technical Bodies and delegates and experts
Anna Korab – Director of the Standardization Activities Administration Department of PKN devoted her first presentation to discussing the coordination of the work of experts and delegates and the importance of efficient communication between Technical Bodies and PKN representatives in standardization organizations.
- Participation in standardization work at the international level – ISO and IEC
Anna Komar, Director of External Relations Department, presented the current challenges of international cooperation in the context of the active involvement of Polish experts in standardization work.
- Technical Bodies capabilities in standardization work planning
Marta Krejpowicz, Director of Standardization Department, discussed the tools and procedures that support the planning of standardization work and highlighted the role of Technical Bodies in submitting and managing standardization topics.
- The role and importance of CEN and CENELEC Technical Boards in shaping standardization activities
Piotr Terlecki, Permanent Representative of PKN in the CEN Technical Board, and Krzysztof Rodak, Permanent Representative of PKN in the CENELEC Technical Board, explained the importance of Technical Boards in shaping the development of European Standards as well as the impact of decisions made at this level on the works of national technical committees.
- OSD as a new platform for developing standards
Anna Korab in her second presentation familiarized the participants with functionalities of the Online Standards Development (OSD) platform and its role in streamlining standardization processes.
- SMART STANDARDS – new approach to standards
Beata Liszkiewicz, Director of the Standards Transformation Department, discussed the digital transformation of standards and work on their new, “smart” form, which is expected to facilitate their use in a digital environment.
Summary and open discussion
The meeting culminated in a question and answer (Q&A) session, during which participants discussed the future needs of standards users, possibilities for improving the work of Technical Bodies, and challenges related to the growing number of projects at the European and international levels. The meeting demonstrated the importance of Polish experts and their involvement in the development of standards at all levels – national, European, and global.
